CosmicSenior
The CosmicSenior program serves as a confident bridge between early learning and primary education. At this stage, children consolidate literacy and numeracy skills, strengthen comprehension, and develop structured thinking through guided instruction and experiential learning. With a strong focus on communication, responsibility, self-management, and independent learning habits, CosmicSenior prepares children academically, socially, and emotionally for a smooth transition into Grade 1 and beyond.
Our Philosophy
Learning that orbits the child At CosmicSenior we believe the child
is the centre of learning. Our approach is:
Child-centred & play-based
We use play as the essential medium through which young children make sense of the world (free play, guided play, and learning through purposeful routines).
Foundational & strength-based
We build core language, early literacy and numeracy, motor skills, socio-emotional competence, and executive function — supported by sensory-rich experiences.
Inquiry-driven
Children are encouraged to ask questions, pursue interests, test hypotheses, and document discoveries (a practice drawn from IB PYP early years principles).
Seamless transition to school
Assessment, documentation, and teacher collaboration are all geared toward smooth entry into Grade 1 (following NEP’s Foundational Stage principles).
Assessment
Meaningful, continuous, non-intrusive We assess to support learning
— not to label. Our assessment toolkit includes:
● Learning stories & anecdotal observations
Teachers record rich narratives of child learning.
● Portfolios:
Child work samples, photos, voice recordings, and teacher reflections collected termly.
● Developmental checklists
Aligned to NEP/NCERT and CISCE pre-primary outcomes for numeracy, literacy, social development and
motor skills.
● Parent-teacher conferences
Scheduled twice per year with progress reports and co-created goals.
● Transition reports
Concise, child-friendly handover documentation targeted to Grade 1 teachers to ensure continuity.
