Cosmic Kids Preschool

Curriculum

At CosmicKids, our curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child while building strong academic readiness. Rooted in India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and aligned with early ICSE learning expectations, our approach blends structured foundations with play-based, experiential learning inspired by global early-years best practices. This balanced framework ensures children learn with joy while developing the skills required for a confident transition into primary school

Curriculum

● Ongoing teacher observations: Daily observational notes tied to learning goals and pictured evidence.

● Learning portfolios: Samples of drawings, emergent writing, photos of projects and play narratives compiled termly.

● Learning stories & rubrics: Short narrative reports that record how a child solved a problem or collaborated — contextualising skills rather than reducing to grades.

● Parent conferences: Two formal meetings per year + regular micro updates via the parent app.

● Oral language rich environments: sustained conversations, rich vocabulary, songs and rhymes.

● Emergent literacy routines: daily story time, shared reading, print rich environments with labels, environmental print.

● Phonological awareness & pre-literacy: explicit games for rhymes, syllables, onset-rime, and phoneme play as children are ready.

● Number sense through play: counting songs, manipulatives, number walks.

● Pattern & sorting activities: classification games, pattern blocks.

● Problem solving: story problems and playful challenges that stimulate reasoning beyond rote counting. We emphasise  conceptual understanding and flexible strategies rather than memorisation.

● Nature tables & observations: seasonal changes, plants, insects.

● Simple experiments: sink/float, light/dark, mixing materials

● Art atelier: process art with   diverse media, not just   finished products.

● Music & rhythm: regular structured and free musical exploration.

● SEL curriculum: routines to name feelings, conflict resolution scripts, cooperative games.

● Differentiation & support: individualised learning plans for children needing extra support and referrals to specialists where needed.

● Daily outdoor play, nature walks, gross-motor circuits and  seasonal gardening projects.

● Health & hygiene routines (handwashing, toilet independence) are  taught as part of daily life skills.

● Academic readiness: emergent reading, numeracy strategies and fine motor control for pencil work.

● Social readiness: independent routines, following multi-step instructions, cooperating in groups.
