Cosmic Kids Preschool

Playgroup Program

Our Playgroup program offers a gentle and nurturing introduction to the preschool journey, where young children explore their world through sensory play, music, movement, and guided interaction. The focus is on building emotional security, early communication, motor development, and simple routines, helping children develop confidence, curiosity, and independence in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Our Philosophy

Joy, Safety, and Intentional Play We believe that early childhood
learning must be joyful, safe, inclusive, and intentionally scaffolded.

We design learning environments where guided play and free play coexist — adults plan rich play invitations, then step back to observe and scaffold as needed. This is consistent with global early years guidance which emphasizes learning through play.

Educators focus on warm, responsive relationships, nurturing attachments and trust.

We target language, social-emotional skills, cognitive curiosity,
motor skills and early executive function through everyday play routines.

Local languages, festivals, stories and family practices are
integrated to make learning meaningful and identity-affirming for every child.

Learning outcomes

What children will begin to achieve in Playgroup By the end of a Playgroup year (typical 9–12 months attendance),
children in our program generally show progress across these domains:

● Communication & Language:

Increased vocabulary, ability to follow simple instructions, emerging two- to three-word phrases, responsive listening during stories and songs.

● Social & Emotional Development:

Basic turn-taking, interest in peers, increased tolerance for brief separations from parents, early emotion labeling (happy, sad, tired, excited).

● Physical Development:

Improved gross motor skills (running, climbing, balancing), and fine motor beginnings (scribbling, simple manipulative play, stacking).

● Cognitive & Early Numeracy:

Curiosity for cause-and-effect, sorting by size/colour, matching, and early counting routines embedded in songs and play.

● Creativity & Expressive Arts:

Enjoyment of music, movement, simple pretend play, and exploratory art processes. These outcomes map to NEP goals for ECCE and global early years
standards and are achieved through intentionally designed play invitations rather than classroom drills.
