Parent Engagement

Parental engagement improves children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional development and school readiness. Research shows that strong educator–family partnerships enhance attention, self-regulation and early literacy/numeracy skills. National and international frameworks emphasise two-way communication, trust and active family participation. Our model embeds these principles and aligns with NEP and ECCE priorities.

Our parent partnership philosophy

Parents know their child best — our role is to extend, complement and co-design learning experiences.

Two-way, meaningful communication beats one-way updates. Reporting should invite conversation, goal-setting and co-reflection, not only information.

Engagement strategies respect diverse family schedules, languages, and circumstances; we provide multiple channels and flexible meeting options.

Reporting

● Running digital portfolios:

ongoing teacher observations, photos and short reflections (parents can comment).

● Term summaries

strengths, two focus goals, and at-home suggestions (1 page, plain language, with sample activities).

● Conferences

scheduled to co-create goals; if families prefer remote meetings
that option is provided.

● Early referrals

if a teacher identifies a concern, we explain findings, propose next steps, and with parental consent arrange specialist referral or follow-up supports. This strengths-based model reduces parental anxiety and invites collaboration.
